Pamplona-based artist Jesús Sotés Vicente is a self-taught illustrator and graphic designer. His work is made up of strong, elegant shapes used to construct stylish characters. He also has a passion for using lovely, rich masses of foliage, which feature in many of his images. His process starts with a pencil sketch, which he then draws in a vector program and adds textures in Photoshop. His process is intuition-driven, and he sometimes doesn’t know the definitive tone of an illustration until it is almost finished.

Jesús Sótes illustrated the recent republication of Stephen Fry’s 2017 book, Mythos: The Illustrated Story, released in the UK this Fall by Penguin Random House. The illustrations help to retell ancient Greek myths for the modern age in a striking 2-color palette.
