Penguin Random House has released their new book, “Tales of the Peculiar” by Ransom Riggs, which is filled with marvelous wood engraving illustrations by Andrew Davidson. Wood engraving is the process of carving the reverse of the image you want into wood, coating it in ink, and making a sort of stamp onto paper. Andrew worked very hard to bring these fairy tales of cannibals, fork tongued princesses, and time turning birds to life. In addition to the intricate pages, Andrew also designed a beautiful cover for the book.
