Mary Woodin
Biography ▼
Mary works from her garden studio deep in the English countryside. She paints mainly in watercolors and excels at capturing the detail of natural subjects. Preferring to work from life whenever possible, she aims to capture the essence of her subject with her characteristically fresh yet sophisticated palette. A natural fit for editorial and publishing, she will see a project right through, from pencil sketches to watercolor artwork with some photoshop editing thrown in. With a background in both textiles and ceramic design, Mary relishes a packaging project where she has to consider wrap-around illustrations. In-between commissions, Mary keeps a watercolor diary of her garden and writes recipes featuring her homegrown produce. Any spare time after that she’ll be on her hands and knees weeding the borders!
