Mathilde Crétier
Biography ▼
Mathilde Crétier is a French illustrator who studied art and fashion in Paris. After a brief career in the fashion industry, she returned to drawing, a practice she had missed too deeply to leave behind. Since 2012, she has been working as an illustrator for numerous brands and magazines all over the world.
Her style is modern, with a strong and poetic use of color. A highly realistic approach gives her work a distinctive and timeless quality. Influenced by her childhood spent admiring master paintings in Italian churches, and later by her love for Impressionist artists discovered in Parisian museums, these inspirations still shape her visual language today.
Now living a nomadic life with her family, Mathilde travels extensively. Her work focuses on revealing the beauty of the world — landscapes, sunsets, forests, mountains, and the quiet poetry of nature.
