Our NYC-based illustrator and designer, Kirsten Ulve, was asked to create a large-scale illustration for Tapad Inc/Telenor Group, the global marketing technology company. Tapad needed a high-impact image to support their breakthrough technology and ability to connect brands with millions of unique consumers across billions of devices. Utilizing her talent for drawing fun, whimsical and slightly-off center caricatures, Kirsten created the final artwork for a wrap display on the side of a customized coffee truck. She developed dozens of characters in a zany mix of scenarios that captured the uniqueness and energy that make New York City the center of the world. Viewers visiting the truck were given special “decoder” glasses allowing them to see the full character mural hidden beneath. Once applied, the TAPAD crew drove and parked the truck in front of New York’s largest ad agencies and media buying companies to promote their services – and to hand out free coffee with the glasses. We’ve provided a peek at Kirsten’s 3 month, colossal undertaking with some interesting behind-the-scenes and making-of images. We hope you enjoy viewing these as much as Kirsten enjoyed creating the concept for this cast of characters for TAPAD’s marketing efforts.
