Ben The Illustrator was commissioned by Adobe to work on the Adobe MAX conference, October 20-22, 2020. Adobe wanted to build an avatar creator for participants of the virtual design festival so users could pick and choose assets to make their own portrait. Ben The Illustrator was tasked with creating an expansive library of assets (approximately 1500 assets) including facial features, clothing, hairstyles and piercing, and covering every skin tone, size, shape and hair color. Ben The Illustrator also created an avatar portrait of late night host Conan O’Brien, one of the event speakers. He then worked with Laundry Service (the agency managing all social content for Adobe MAX) to use his library of assets to create 60 portraits, one for each member of the Co Create Team, a selected group of creative professionals that Adobe has hired to be part of the conference.
